BOB® C7800 Series Copper Water Heater Connectors

Since most local codes now require the use of isolating nipples anyway, connector manufacturers are no longer required by the ASME A112.18.6 Standard for Flexible Water Connectors to be concerned with built-in isolators to protect the water heater. However, what about protecting the connector? When the humidity is up, moisture condenses on the outside of connectors which can cause electrolysis where dissimilar metals are in direct contact. While the water heater may be safe, brands with no isolators or "internal isolators" in the waterway overlook the direct metal to metal contact between the Brass Nut and the Copper Tube, putting the connector at risk from external corrosion caused by electrolysis.
Our proven External Dielectric Isolator on most models completely electrically isolates the 3/4" FIP brass nut from the copper tube. In addition, the copper tube is effectively electrically isolated internally from the water pipe or fitting by our super tough and resilient nitrile seal washer. Unlike brands with no isolators or "internal isolators", our design helps to protect both the water heater AND the connector. The unique tapered design of our seal prevents the washer from "squirting" out from under the pipe end during installation. They're flexible to allow for irregularities in the pipe end, yet tough to help resist "punching" through. Design Certified to Meet ALL Pressure Drop and Flow Requirements
